Description

Strip Detective is a set of 10 tests used to detect the presence of acid phosphatase (which occurs in high concentrations in semen).

The test is also referred to as a home infidelity test – it can be performed at home with complete discretion.
The simplicity and effectiveness of the test makes it used in many professional forensic laboratories throughout the world.
The test was produced in Poland.

The negative result gives you 100% confidence that your trace does not contain semen.

A positive test confirms that acid phosphatase is present in the tested material (it is present in very high concentrations in semen).

Aplications:

The product can be used by detective offices and private individuals.

How to use it?

Performing a single test is extremely simple. In a nutshell, it involves wetting the test spot and applying a diagnostic stick. After just two minutes, the result can be read by comparing the stained colour of the stick to the scale provided by the manufacturer.

How it works?

The test works by identifying the activity of the enzyme acid phosphatase, which is present in high concentrations in semen (it may also be rarely present in some bacterias, deodorants and vaginal discharge – that is why you need to cinfirm it in certified laboratory). The presence of this enzyme causes the test strip to turn purple. However, it’s important to remember that acid phosphatase can also be present in certain other biological substances, meaning that in some cases, the test result may be positive despite the absence of semen. To unequivocally confirm the presence of human semen, the sample should be submitted to a specialized forensic laboratory, where an immunochromatographic test or molecular analysis will be performed, which will allow for the final identification of semen in the seized material. Previous use of the StripDetective test does not negatively impact the ability to perform a confirmatory test on the same sample.

Package contents:

– English user manual, extra translations to: polish, german, french, spanish, ukrainian, russian, italian, czech, slovakian, hungarian
– 10 tests
– Bottle with atomiser for filling with water
Video and PDF instructions in many languages are available on our website and youtube channel.

Instructions for use – version 1 of the instructions (will ensure that the object to be examined is kept clean):

1. Fill the attached bottle with water.
Spray the suspicious stain 2 times.
2. Spray the test pad 1 time and press it to the stain. The 1cm test pad should be facing the stain.
3. Leave the test pad on the stain and wait for 2 minutes.
4. Wait for 2 minutes
5. Check the result. If the color of the test pad will turn purple – the stain may contain semen. Please send it to profesional laboratory to confirm.

Instructions for use – version 2 of the instructions (shorter, may leave a purple mark on the examined object):

1. Fill the attached bottle with water.
Spray the suspicious stain 2 times.
2. Spray the ear cleaning stick pad 3 times (it is not attached). Turn it in the stain few times. Make sure that your
stick is wet and touching the stain all around
3. Press the ear cleaning
stick to the test pad. Leave the stick on the test pad. The 1cm test pad should be facing the cotton pad.
4. Wait for 2 minutes
5. Check the result. If the color of the test pad will turn purple – the stain may contain semen. Please send it to profesional laboratory to confirm.

*In rare cases, acid phosphatase may be present in low concentrations in selected biological substances – bacteria, deodorants, and vaginal fluids. Therefore, a confirmatory test performed by a professional should be performed.

Discreet delivery

Our packages are unmarked with any logos or contents, and we send invoices electronically, so you can be 100% sure your order is discreet.

What does a negative result look like?
If the test field remains white, slightly cream-colored, yellowish, or slightly pink after 2 minutes of contact with the material, the result is negative. If you have doubts about the result, you can perform a negative control or send a photo to contact (at) stripdetective.com, and we will help you interpret it.
How to check a negative result?
You can check a negative result as follows: 1. Take another unused strip. 2. Spray it with water twice. 3. Wait two minutes. 4. After two minutes, compare its color with your test. If the color is comparable, consider the result negative. If you still have doubts about the result, send a photo to contact (at)stripdetective.com, and we will help you interpret it.
What does a positive result look like?
If the test field turns purple, the result is positive. The box and instructions include a color comparison scale to help you determine if the shade is correct. Not the entire test field needs to turn purple. If only some parts of the test strip turn purple, the result should also be considered positive. A positive result means that the material contains acid phosphatase, which is found in very high concentrations in semen.
If the test field has different shades, should I consider it positive or negative?
If the test field turns several colors, determine whether it also contains purple, matching the color indicated on the comparative color scale. If it also has purple, consider it positive. However, remember that acid phosphatase present in semen may also occur in rare cases in other biological substances, including bacteria, so you should confirm the result in a certified laboratory.
Does a positive result always mean that there is sperm in the trace?
The result confirms that acid phosphatase is present in the trace. This result means that it may be semen, but it does not provide 100% certainty. In rare cases, acid phosphatase may also be present in bacteria (including bacteria from the female vagina) and other biological substances or deodorants. For this reason, a positive result requires confirmation by another diagnostic method, such as a PSA test in a certified laboratory.
Can a DNA test be performed after receiving a positive result?
Performing the Strip Detective test does not destroy the DNA material. You can send your material to a certified genetic laboratory for further analysis. You can confirm the presence of semen using another available method, mark the DNA profile, or order a DNA profile and compare it with another profile.
What types of traces can be examined—wet or dry?
The test will detect semen in both wet and dry traces. Wet traces must not be diluted with water or other liquids in a ratio of more than 1:500. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of the test for more diluted traces.
How old traces will the test detect?
The test detects traces that are even several years old.
If the result is difficult to see, should I wait longer than 2 minutes?
The result should be read after 2 minutes. Do not interpret the stick after 15 minutes or an hour after the test. The test may change colors if it reacts with the substance for longer. Analysis of such a “stale” stick will not give correct conclusions about the result. If you want to document what the color of the test field looked like after the analysis, take a photo immediately after 2 minutes have passed.
Can the test be used twice?
Each test stick is for single use only. It cannot be used repeatedly.
How long do you have to wait for the test results?
You should read the test result two minutes after applying the test to the trace.
Good practices when performing the test
If possible, put on sterile gloves. Do not touch the trace you want to examine with your hands, as you may leave your DNA or bacteria on it. Make sure that the water you pour into the atomizer is clean. It can be boiled and cooled tap water. The water should not be hot. Semen traces should not be frozen.
Should I use all the tests at once?
You can use the tests at any time. Please note the expiry date of the test strips printed on the inside of the packaging. If the test is expired or you have stored it outside the desiccant sachet, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the result.
Is the test used by law enforcement agencies?
Yes, law enforcement agencies use acid phosphatase enzyme detection tests to preliminarily assess the presence of semen. Positive traces are then examined with further tests or subjected to DNA analysis for sex determination or DNA sequencing.
Can I return the product?
You can only return the product if you have not opened the test packaging. In this case, the standard return period of 14 days applies, plus an additional 14 days to return the product. You will find the return form in the tabs at the bottom of the page.
What is the expiration date of the product?
The product is valid for one year from the date of manufacture. The expiration date of your kit is printed on the inside of the box.
Will the product still work after the expiration date?
We do not guarantee the effectiveness of the test after 365 days from the date of manufacture. The expiration date of your kit is printed on the inside of the box.
